Visteon pensioners travel to Wales to fight for pension rights
8:00pm Friday 14th February 2014 in News
VISTEON pensioners travelled to Wales yesterday as they continued their fight for pension rights.
A group of the pensioners from south Essex will visit the Cardiff Welsh Assembly to hear a debate on the economic effects of the Visteon plant closure in Swansea and the loss of pension incomes. The Welsh Assembly has already given its support to the former workers, who lost their jobs in 2009 when the firmwent into administration.
Visteon is an offshoot of Ford and the ex-workers claim they should have received Ford pensions, having been transferred to Visteon when it was set up.
Plants across the country closed, including one in Christopher Martin Road, Basildon. The pensioners will be marking five years since Visteon went into administration on Wednesday, April 2.
