Pensioner sustains injuries after road traffic accident in Rochford

Echo: Pedestrian taken to hospital after Rochford crash Pedestrian taken to hospital after Rochford crash

A MAN in his seventies has been taken to hospital after sustaining several injuries in a road traffic accident in Rochford this morning.
The pedestrian was hit by a silver Vauxhall Zafira at around 11am on Saturday, February 15 on East Street, Rochford.
Police officers attended the scene and closed the road, allowing paramedics to treat the man before he was taken to hospital and the road was repoened.
A statement Essex Police said: "The pedestrian was taken to Southend Hospital by paramedics after sustaining a variety of injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening."
The incident, on part of the one-way system in Rochford, meant traffic built up in the area and was only cleared at 1.45pm.
Roxie Curry, arts development officer at Rochford District Council, Tweeted shortly after the incident occurred: “Rochford gridlocked. Ambulances and police. Reports of traffic accident in the town centre.”

That photo does not bear much resemblance to East Street to me. Noticing more and more the habit of using library pictures to 'liven up' reports, often with no obvious relevance to the case.

Most of the wording in the reports bear very little semblance to English either these days so I wouldn't overly concerned.

And Plod gridlocked the town for two hours after what was a relatively minor accident?

I thought the report said a Vauxhall car, not a Boeing 747.

I hope the poor old bloke recovers nonetheless.

If you look carefully not an Essex police car judging by the badge on the door ,don't look like the 3 swords.
