AN 18-YEAR-OLD accused of a murder in Grays appeared in court this morning.
Lewis Daynes, of Rosebery Road, Grays, stood in the dock at Basildon Magistrates' Court after being charged last night of murdering Breck Bednar.
On Monday, the 14-year-old from Caterham in Surrey was found in a flat with stab wounds and despite efforts to save his life, paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Wearing a red custody tracksuit, Daynes spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during the brief hearing.
The computer engineer will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court tomorrow and then again on April 28 at the same court for a plea and case management hearing.
