Clare Shaw, 32, of Lincoln Road, Basildon, admitted theft after trying to steal £169.06 of perfume from Boots, in Basildon, on November 22. She committed the offence while subject to a conditional discharge for stealing £15 of pet food from Pets at Home, Basildon, on June 14. She was sentenced to a community order, must attend a drug treatment programme for six months and must pay £60 victim surcharge.

Nicholas Regan, 23, of Bushy Mead, Basildon, was found guilty of possessing cannabis when he was caught with the class B drug in Basildon on August 11. He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Lee Remon, 26, of Marlpit Lane, Norwich, admitted theft, after he stole £200 of diesel from Basildon Council on September 20. On the same date, he also damaged fencing to the value of £100 belonging to the council. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £300 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Charlie Wall, 20, of Deavon Drive, Basildon, admitted fraud and receiving stolen goods. On December 23, he tried to sell goods that were not his for £20. On the same date, he received a stolen drill and a 100-watt transformer belonging to Nicholas Hill, knowing or believing them to be stolen. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Simon Hanks, 44, of Norsey Close, Billericay, admitted burglary. On October 16, he broke in to Jennings Bookmakers, Billericay, and stole £300. He was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for a year, and ordered to pay £300 compensation, an £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Antony Gorman, 30, of Rookyards, Basildon, admitted possession of class A drugs. He was caught with 1.9g of cocaine, including wraps on January 8. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Kevin Masse, 57, of Doublet Mews, Billericay, admitted drink driving after he was caught in Golden Jubilee Way, Wickford, on January 8 with 68mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for 20 months.

Patrick O’Neill, 32, of Arne Court, Basildon, was found guilty of theft after stealing four Nivea gift sets worth £31.96, from Home Bargains, on December 4. He was jailed for four weeks.
