CASTLE Point Council is inviting families to leave their mark on the borough’s green spaces by asking them to plant a tree.
The council is working with Groundwork Essex to help communities improve the green spaces near them.
People of all ages are encouraged to visit Smallgains Recreation Ground, in Creek Road, Canvey, on Thursday, March 6, between 10am and 2pm.
There, they will be able to help create areas for wildlife by planting some small trees and learn about the trees and the wildlife they will support.
Trees planted will include native species such as Hazelnut, Rowan, Crab apple, Hawthorn, Elder, Oak, Alder and Hornbeam.
Warm clothes and wellies, or old shoes, are strongly advised.
For more details or to book on to this free event, call Kim or Sarah on 01268 752368.
