Ryan Clarke, 24, of Komberg Crescent, Canvey, admitted possessing 9.3g of cocaine in Basildon on January 2. He was made subject to a community order requiring him to participate in a Thinking Skills course for 19 days. He was also fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 costs. The cocaine was forfeited and destroyed.

Stephen Brown, 62, of Westwood Gardens, Hadleigh, admitted driving a Renault Kangoo on the M25 while exceeding the drink driving limit on December 10. He was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in 12 months, to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 costs. He was also disqualified from holding a licence for 26 months.

Charles Peet, 41, of Hornby Avenue, Westcliff, was found guilty of carrying a Stanley knife in Hornby Avenue, Southend, on October 7. He was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months. He was also made subject to a curfew for two months and electronically tagged. He was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and £200 costs.

Darius Bertulis, 30, of York Road, Southend, admitted stealing two bottles of wine worth £16.58 belonging to Tesco in Westcliff, on January 4. He also admitted breaching a conditional discharge by stealing three bottles of wine on July 10. He was ordered to carry out 100 hours’ unpaid work in the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

Jamie Chambers, 21, of Southchurch Avenue, Southend, admitted breaking a banning order under the Football Spectators Act on January 4 which prohibited him from going within 1,260 yards of Roots Hall football ground. He also admitted being drunk and disorderly in Hilton Road, Canvey, while subject to a conditional discharge. He was fined £75, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £50 costs.

Jeffrey Chilvers, 36, of Hazlemere Road, Benfleet, admitted driving a black Ford Focus on Kents Hill Road, Benfleet, while over the legal drink drive limit. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 costs. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 26 months.

Sibonelo Memela, 30, Westbourne Grove, Westcliff, admitted possessing a broken bottle neck in Station Road, Westcliff, on January 5. He was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was also required to carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Tomas Pacik, 23, of South Avenue, Southend, admitted stealing four packets of Gillette Fusion razors worth £11.80 each from Boots, in Chelmsford, on January 3. He was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
