AN MP headed down to his local chippy to join in the fun with national chip week.
John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay, celebrated with Fish ‘n’ Chicken, in BillericayHigh Street.
As well as some chips, he tucked into a fried fish for his dinner.
He said: “Recognising National Chip Week is about supporting local farmers by raising the profile of the great British potato. It is also worth remembering that fish and chips is not only traditional British fare, but an industry which supports many jobs.”
Bosses at Fish ‘n’ Chicken are inviting all customers to celebrate national chip week by guessing howmany chips they sellaweek in total at all of their 38 shops across the south east of the country.
If they guess correctly, they will be in with a chance of bagging free fish and chips for a year.
To enter, just go to any Fish ‘n’ Chicken in south Essex.
