Basildon MP has his chips

Echo: Chips – Fish ‘n’ Chicken’s Hugh Lipscombe with John Baron Chips – Fish ‘n’ Chicken’s Hugh Lipscombe with John Baron

AN MP headed down to his local chippy to join in the fun with national chip week.

John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay, celebrated with Fish ‘n’ Chicken, in BillericayHigh Street.

As well as some chips, he tucked into a fried fish for his dinner.

He said: “Recognising National Chip Week is about supporting local farmers by raising the profile of the great British potato. It is also worth remembering that fish and chips is not only traditional British fare, but an industry which supports many jobs.”

Bosses at Fish ‘n’ Chicken are inviting all customers to celebrate national chip week by guessing howmany chips they sellaweek in total at all of their 38 shops across the south east of the country.

If they guess correctly, they will be in with a chance of bagging free fish and chips for a year.

To enter, just go to any Fish ‘n’ Chicken in south Essex.

Actually John Baron is OK. He was my MP when I lived in his constituency and at least he responds quickly to any enquiries and shows an interest. I've always found him friendly and very competent.

How many of you actually communicate with your politicians? Genuine question. I'd like an answer without the usual vitriol.

I judge people on their actions not on what I read on the internet or in newspapers.

**Actually John Baron is OK**

Well thats okay then Kim if you vouch for him..Phew what a relief..Im sure a lot of people thought he was a tory MP, part of a government determined to stamp the poor and vulnerable into the dirt and then grind their noses in it..

But if you say he is ok...well it surely follows...
