POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old boy received serious head injuries when he was hit by a bus.

The collision occurred on Link Road, Canvey Island, on March 12 and officers were notified by the ambulance service at 4.10pm.

The road was closed whilst paramedics treated the injured boy and police carried out initial investigations at the scene. It was re-opened at 6.50pm.

The boy was subsequently taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital for treatment to head injuries which are believed to be serious but not life threatening.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are asked to call PC Claire Pollard at Laindon Road Policing unit on 101 or they can e-mail 70767@essex.pnn.police.uk
