Man in hospital after fight at caravan site

A MAN was airlifted to hospital after he was attacked at a Canvey caravan park.

The man in his fifties, a resident of Thorney Bay caravan park, in Thorney Bay Road, was on the site at 5pm on Sunday, March 16 when it is thought he was involved in an altercation with another man.

Police officers and paramedics arrived at the site to find the man with a severe head injury. He was immediately airlifted to a London hospital although Essex Police has since said he has non-life threatening injuries.

A man who has relatives at the caravan park said he was concerned to hear of the assault.

The man, who asked not to be named, said: “It is very worrisome.

I understand things like this do happen, even in tight-knit communities such as caravan parks, but, as a parent, it is not nice to hear news like this.”

Jeff King, owner of Thorney Bay Caravan Park, said: “We always help police with their inquiries and we will do everything we can in this case to ensure they find out what happened.”

Police confirmed detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Officers are looking to speak toaman in his thirties who is a registered caravan owner in connection with the crime, which could be a domestic incident.

“Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or contact Essex Police on 101.”

For all the people that have decided to 'thumbs down' my comment:

Their is a place up north where Mr King holds a lot of 'immigrant homeless and foreign influx' (as Rich Carol likes to call them). It is NOT on Thorney Bay Caravan Park.

Er well andy - I think you will find it was actually Mr. Blairs Labour charmers who decided to give every Tom Dick and Harry the opportunity to come here as a bogus visitor / student / asylum seeker. The present lot have been left with the unenviable problem of sorting out the shambles created by the lefties. I think even some of the Labour chaps and chapesses are ashamed of their previous open door immigration policy.

I should think it's labour's greatest regret ever..... they know the public will never forgive them because they will be reminded of this great catastrophe for the rest of their lives, as the real consequences become apparent, in light of the multiplication now happening...... don't praise the tories too much though, not a peep out of them whilst their ilk cashed in on the cheap labour..... only when it was obviously such a vote loser, and in the wake of the rise of UKIP, did the eton and harrow brigade finally pipe up, too late.....
