THE SECOND man who died in a tragic light aircraft crash on Saturday has been named.

Andrew Sully, who lived in Writtle, was killed when the YAK 52 plane he was flying nosedived into a field in Cooksmill Green at about 2.55pm.

Both he and passenger Simon Chamberlain were confirmed dead at the scene.

Mr Sully was a pilot for British Airways and his employers paid tribute to him.

A spokesman said: "Andrew was a highly respected and popular member of our pilot team.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."

An investigation is currently being carried out by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
