A TEENAGER was left needing surgery after being shot in the arm with an air gun.

The 13-year-old suffered the injury at Lions Gorge in Chafford Hundred at around 6.15pm yesterday.

Two 24-year-old men, one from Stanford-le-Hope and one who did not give an address, were arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident.

The youngster, who lives in the area, ended up with a pellet in his arm and will require surgery.

Dc Adam Stallard, of Grays CID, said: "The area is a popular fishing spot and young people do like to hang around there. We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any further information.”

Anyone that can help is asked to call Grays CID on Essex Police 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

No, people don't just shoot people for no reason. He obviously shot himself, planted the gun on the 2 poor, innocent blokes, then rung the police and had them nabbed. Its time we used time machines and lie detecting robots to torture people who report crimes to find out if they are telling the truth

A spud gun stings - an airgun hurts and can have your eye out - certianly not high jinks to the poor person laying in hospital waiting for surgery.

The twits were 24 years old - hardly LADS.

Dont talk rubbish, its nothing short of the victim-blaming tripe you normally come out with. If you couldnt see the username i guarantee most users would say it came from your sticky keyboard

I'm sorry, but mocking children who have been shot it not funny, especially on an open forum, where many could be offended.

Best wishes to the lad and his family, if your reading this.

An airgun can kill at close range.

I may be wrong; but doesnt considering someone a conspiracy theorist place you firmly in the same category?
