A CHOIR from Rayleigh which uses sign language to music rather than singing has landed a gig at County Hall.
Hands 4 Voices will be performing in the atrium of County Hall, Chelmsford, on May 9 by signing to a mix of modern and traditional songs.
The choir’s 48 members include deaf, partially deaf and hearing members, many of whom learned to sign with the county council’s Adult Community Learning, and the group won deaf charity Signature’s community spirit award in November.
The county council’s education spokesman Ray Gooding said: “Many of the choir members learnt to sign with Adult Community Learning and have reached a fantastic standard. Please come along on 9 May to enjoy a free performance by this award winning choir.”
The 25 minute performances will take place at 12.15pm and 1.15pm and more information can be found on Hands 4 Voices on their website at www.hands4voices.co.uk
