A CANVEY man was left bloodied and bruised following a vicious attack in broad daylight.

The 33-year-old man was walking across the field leading from Church Parade to Waterside Farm Leisure Centre when three white men aged between 20 and 25 years old began to attack him in an unprovoked assault.

They punched and kicked him leaving him with an ear injury and bad bruises over his body before they made off in the direction of Central Avenue. Nothing was taken from him.

The men are additionally described as slim to medium build and one of them was wearing an luminous yellow T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms, another was wearing a light grey tracksuit, with a shaven head.

Dc Christian Forbes, who is investigating said: "This was a nasty assault which the victim was not able to report until he had been treated in hospital. If anyone has any knowledge or saw anything please contact me at Southend CID on 101 ext 470302."

No reason hey ? Didn't take anything, could there be a reason the victim didn't seem comfortable telling the police about ?

Don't believe it was unprovoked at all. Of course the victim knew his attackers.

Oh dear, what is wrong with all you hateful people who comment on here? You are all so very unkind and very unsympathetic. Why Haven't you got a nice word of encouragement to say about the poor victim? ;(

Where does it say the victim was uncomfortable - apart from the fact he was in hospital?

I lived on canvey 5 years ago. One night someone tapped me on the shoulder as I crossed a dyke bridge, being 17 and naive, I turned into a punch. Whoever it was ran off. Lucky for me because it knocked one of my contact lenses out. Just round the corner from my house, no real reason for it that I can tell than for fun?

People on here seem to forget though that there are some out there for which the simple act of 'you lookin at me bruv' is all the justification they need.
