THREE men have been arrested following an assault in Southend on Tuesday morning but police still need witnesses to contact them.

A 23-year-old man was assaulted around 3.30am on Tuesday, May 6 near HSBC bank on Southend High Street.

The victim and a friend were assaulted, leaving the victim with a cut to the head, which required hospital treatment, swelling and bruising.

Three men, a 17-year-old from Southend and another 17-year-old and 19-year-old from south east London have been arrested and bailed until May 28 on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, while inquiries continue.
