TWO men have been arrested following an incident which resulted in the window to a Stanford-le-Hope home being smashed.

It is thought the window to the property in Branksome Avenue, backing on to Hope Avenue, was shot through on Wednesday night.

A 32-year-old man from South Ockendon was arrested in Tilbury yesterday [Thursday May, 8] in connection with the incident.

He remains in police custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

A second man aged 25 from Grays was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. He is also in police custody.

On Thursday, residents reported a heavy police presence in the quiet street.

At least three police vans were parked outside the property until late on Thursday afternoon, with forensics officers in and out of the house all day.

No one was hurt in the incident.
