CCTV images of men wanted in connection with a vicious street robbery have been released.

Detectives in Southend are continuing to investigate an assault and robbery last month in which two suspects repeatedly kicked and punched a man before robbing him.

The attack happened in Queensway, Southend, on Sunday, April 13 at about 2.50am. Essex Police has only now released images of two men spotted on the town’s cameras, with the hopes the public will recognise the men from their clothing.

Dc Vicky Caine said: "There were a number of vehicles seen on the CCTV at the Queensway traffic lights near to Victoria Train Station, in particular taxi vehicles and I would like to appeal to witnesses of the incident to come forward and speak to me.”

Police have also previously released an e-fit of one of the two suspects.

He is described as white, aged 20 to 25, just under 6ft, of lean to muscular build, with a chubby face and short blonde crew-cut style hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

The second man was similar in age and build with dark hair, wearing a gillet bodywarmer and dark trousers.

Anyone with information should call Southend CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
