AN investigation has been launched into a suspected fraudster who pretended to collect cash for charities.
Essex Police wants to speak to any residents who may have donated money to a man who claimed to be taking part in a sponsored run for ‘depression charities’.
It is believed the man went door to door asking for donations from residents across South Essex.
Anyone with information about the latest fraud should contact Pc Katie Londesborough on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
A 27-year-old man from Westcliff was arrested on March 14 on suspicion of fraud by false representation. He was bailed until June 6 pending further enquiries.
