A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued after climbing onto the roof of a house.
Firefighters using an aerial ladder platform rescued the girl from a 30ft drop in Station Avenue, Wickford, at about 6.30pm yesterday.
The specialist equipment was brought from Southend and firefighters in harnesses climbed onto the roof to save the girl.
Leading firefighter Mick Thorne(CORR), of Southend Fire Station, said: “Once we got her she seemed quite calm.
“It’s just what we do. It was a good rescue and a good outcome.”
