The "odd broken arm"? My children have never had a broken limb in their life. Scrapes and falls, yes. But broken limbs is taking your eye off the ball just too often or too long.
Oh rubbish, do you run behind them when they ride their bikes? I fell on my roller skates as an 11 year old and broke my arm as well. It wasn't my Mum's fault, it was just an accident.

6 kids.... 2 broken arms, 1 broken hand, 1 broken wrist and endless bumps and scrapes. They've grown into healthy adults with a respect for human limits and a whole bunch of common sense.

One of them is a firefighter... would you suggest I stand behind him on the ladder to make sure he doesn't fall off?"

A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued after climbing onto the roof of a house.

Firefighters using an aerial ladder platform rescued the girl from a 30ft drop in Station Avenue, Wickford, at about 6.30pm yesterday.

The specialist equipment was brought from Southend and firefighters in harnesses climbed onto the roof to save the girl.

Leading firefighter Mick Thorne(CORR), of Southend Fire Station, said: “Once we got her she seemed quite calm.

“It’s just what we do. It was a good rescue and a good outcome.”
