FIVE people suffered minor injuries after two cars crashed in Benfleet.

The smash happened on the junction of Church Road and Kennington Avenue just after 6pm this evening.

Fire crews from Leigh and Canvey attended the scene and worked to free one passenger who was trapped in one of the cars.

They were left in the care of paramedics.

F.Y.I. most of Essex is now retained which means those doing this so called job do it voluntary, the pay certainly dosent reflect the danger these volunteers put themselves in each time their bleepers go off.
