BAGS of rubbish were collected by volunteer litter pickers.
Basildon Council workers and staff at McDonald’s descended on Basildon to do their bit for the community. They held an action day, with many litter picks held around the fast-food restaurant before culminating at Festival Leisure Park.
Dozens of bags of rubbish were piled into a heap at the end of the day before being sent off to the tip or to be recycled.
Staff also helped out when they spotted any items which had been dumped, with two chairs, which had been flytipped, also collected and sent to the dump.
