A MAN is to appear in court after an elderly woman was hit by a car in Billericay.
The woman, 69, of Billericay, was in Radford Way, when she was struck by a Renault Clio just before 5.30pm on Thursday, January 9.
She was taken to Basildon Hospital with head injuries before being transferred to Royal London Hospital where she is still recovering.
Harry Goater, 20, of Devereux Way, Billericay, has been charged with one count of using a vehicle with a smashed windscreen likely to cause danger of injury and one count of failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
He will appear before magistrates in Basildon on Thursday, July 10.
