A LONG-AWAITED brasserie, bar and restaurant will open at Shoebury East Beach next summer.

Work will start on the new two-storey development, called the Beach House which will have a large outdoor dining area and balcony overlooking the sea, this month, the Echo can reveal.

Residents and visitors have been waiting for a permanent eatery at the beauty spot since the old wooden cafe burnt down in a suspected arson attack in 2006.

Full story and details in today's Echo.

Shoebury is on the up, especially Shoeburyness. Give it five to ten years and it will be one of the best parts of Southend.

If it looks anything like that when its done it will be amazing, cant see it happening but hey you never know! I was also wondering about the parking and that its a shame the surrounding area looks nothing like that, what with the bins toilets, barriers and litter.

Shoebury is OK, but there's hardly anything there! Hopefully places like this will help that

Hope it won`t go the way of the cafe in Warrior Square.
I think the East Beach, will be empty almost all the week. Less so at weekend though, probably..
This location is right by where the bus company employees were being attacked a while ago.
Would not like to leave a vehicle there for long.
Almost no security.

It does look nice (in the video). Nice piece of music (I Giorni - Ludovico Einaudi, if I'm not mistaken). Question is. Will it be affordable for most families who like to go to the beach but are on a budget? or is it priced for the posh snobs who live on the garrison.
