SOUTH Essex defendants appearing before Basildon and Southend magistrates' courts.

 

RICHIE IRETON, 24, of Giffords Cross Road, Corringham, admitted driving without insurance. He was stopped on March 28 in a silver Ford Fiesta in Giffords Cross Road. He was fined £190, ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

Ireton was given six points on his licence.

RICHARD LEWIS, 27, of Crays View, Billericay, admitted breaching a restraining order.

Between April 1, 2013, and January 7, 2014, he contacted a woman by text message despite being prohibited from doing so. He was jailed for 18 weeks, suspended for 24 months, ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £135 court costs.

DANIEL SARGEANT, 20, of Crown Avenue, Pitsea, admitted assault. He attacked Isha Stubbard, in Basildon, on June 4 and was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, and told to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £75 court costs.

FREDERICK BLAKE, 40, of Ward Close, Basildon, admitted stealing £49.98 of groceries from Asda at the Eastgate Centre, in Basildon, on May 18.

He was fined £75, ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £50 court costs.

LEWIS BARTER, 24, of The Lichfields, Basildon, admitted possession of gun ammunition without a licence. On May 20, at Bulphan and Basildon, he had ammunition without a firearms certificate at the time. He was fined £50, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. The court ordered the destruction of the ammo.

JOHN BRIERS, 66, of Amelia Blackwell House, Canvey, admitted benefit fraud.

Between July 28, 2011, and November 24, 2013, he failed to notify Castle Point Council of a change in circumstances which would affect his entitlement to housing and council tax benefit.

Between July 28, 2011, and September 7, 2013, he failed to notify the Department for Work and Pensions about a change in circumstances which would affect his entitlement to pension credit. Briers was handed a community order with a three-month curfew and must be at home between 7pm and 7am each day. He was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

ROSEANNE ROONEY, 40, of Swan Terrace, Vange, admitted stealing perfume worth £318 from Debenhams in Basildon on April 11. On the same day she stole £235 sunglasses from Boots. She was handed a community order and must attend a drug rehabilitation course. She was also ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
