POLICE are looking to identify a man in connection with an ongoing investigation into an assault inside a nightclub which left a man unconscious.
The attack happened when a 25-year-old local man was punched several times in the head after having walked away from the dancefloor at Churchills on Tylers Avenue during the night of Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.
Investigating officer, PC Martin Thacker, said: "This man was taken out to the lobby where he fell unconscious. He was then taken to the local hospital and treated for several hours.
“The man pictured in the CCTV was also seen outside the club. We want to identify him and speak to him to see if he can be eliminated from our enquiries. He could live locally so we would ask people to contact us if they are a loved one, work colleague or a friend.”
The victim is now recovering at home.
Anyone who knows the identity of the man pictured is urged to contact the Neighbourhood Crime Team at Southend police station on 101.
