TWO men have been cautioned following an attempted break-in at Leigh’s Grand Hotel.
Following an appeal in the Echo, two men went to Southend police station and admitted an offence of criminal damage at the Leigh landmark, which is currently undergoing renovation to be turned into a boutique hotel.
A 36-year-old man from Southend and a 35-year-old from Benfleet were each given a caution for the offence, which occurred between 1.20am and 2.30am on June 8.
