TWO rail company workers have been recognised for their hard work.

Greater Anglia has praised Carole Carrington, from Canvey, and Joshua Quirk, from Southend, for their excellent customer service skills, after they received top marks in a recent mystery shopping survey.

Both scored 100 per cent in the survey for their friendly attitude and professional manner when serving customers and dealing with enquiries.

Ms Carrington, who has now twice achieved a perfect score, has worked for almost two decades in the ticket office at Wickford station, even giving up her own time to cover special events which need extra staff.

This included opening the ticket office at Burnham station during a recent art trail event.

Mr Quirk is a relief ticket office clerk, covering all offices between Billericay and Southend, and has worked for Greater Anglia for two years.

David Cameron, the train company’s area customer service manager, said: “I would like to congratulate Carole and Joshua on their perfect scores and thank them for their efforts.”

The ticket offices were visited by a “mystery shopper” between May 25 and June 21.
