POLICE are investigating after a man in his thirties was assaulted in Basildon last month.

The victim was walking in the underpass by Basildon Magistrates’ Court in Great Oaks at around 7.30pm on Monday, June 30.

Three men shouted abuse at him before one of them kicked him in the leg and pulled at his shoulder bag but the victim managed to run away from the men.

Pc James Clark, who is investigating the assault, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the three men in the underpass.

“They are described as white men. One had short brown hair and was wearing shorts and a white T-shirt, another was bald and the third was wearing a blue tracksuit and dark hat.”

Anyone that can help with any information about the incident, or if anybody saw what happened, they are asked to contact Pc James Clark at Basildon on Essex Police 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
