A CHURCH’s new £1million home is finally set to open.

The Independent Christian New Life Church, in Wickford, raised the cash through fundraisers and grants, after outgrowing its old community centre in New Jersey Gardens.

Work began last year before the finishing touches were put in place last month.

The church is holding its grand opening this Saturday to show it off, with puppet shows, live music and a bouncy castle.

Maria Parker, member, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with how it has turned out and are really looking forward to sharing it with everyone.”

Miracle House has a coffee shop, which will be open Tuesday to Sunday.

Toddler groups, book clubs and tea at three for elderly residents will be held there and the building can be hired for birthday parties.

The open day, which is free to attend, will take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.

Waste of money. The one thing we don't need is a brand new place where fairy stories are sold as truth.

This is a welcome addition to our local community.

It not only serves the people of the church but also provides a great centre for all locals.
