A 17-year-old from Southend, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and assisting an offender, was bailed until August 27 pending further enquiries.
Mohammed, 24, from Camberwell, London, was stabbed twice in an incident in York Road at around 7pm on Monday, July 7.
He died in hospital the following morning and a murder enquiry was launched.
