BUDDING songwriters are invited to compose melodies for a competition.

The Jack Petchey Foundation has opened the contest for young people across Essex to coincide with the organisation’s 15th birthday.

Songwriters and musicians aged 11 to 25 years old are being sought to write and record an anthem along the themes of inspiration and achievement.

The winner of the competition will record their song in a leading London studio, with an experienced producer and team of industry professionals.

They will also perform their song at the Jack Petchey Foundation’s Festival of Youth in Spring 2015.

The closing date for entries is Friday.
