A BIKER was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Rayleigh.
The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was called to the accident in Rayleigh shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday, August 7.
Down Hall Road was blocked near the junction of Hullbridge Road following the crash between a motorbike and car.
Traffic was backed up along Hambro Hill well into the evening rush hour as emergency services dealt with the incident.
An ambulance spokeswoman said: “The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to Royal London Hospital with serious injuries.”
