A MAN has been released from bail with no further action after being arrested on suspicion of rape.
The 24-year-old was arrested following a party at Cluny House, Southend, in the early hours of January 20 when a woman reported she had been raped.
He was granted bail later that day, again on April 1 and was due to answer bail on August 8, but officers have now confirmed he is no longer a suspect.
A police spokesman said: “Following further enquiries, police have now cancelled the suspect’s bail and no further police action against him is planned.”
