A CAREERS event is being held for the town's teenagers.
More than 20 regional organisations are working together on the Your Future 14 event for 15 to 19-year-olds.
It will be held between 4pm and 7.30pm on October 6 at the Towngate Theatre in St Martin's Square.
The event will include local businesses, training providers, sixth forms and colleges giving information, advice and guidance.
There will also be exhibitions, talks on career development, advice on writing CVs and interview techniques.
Basildon Council leader, Councillor Phil Turner said: “Your Future 14 is ideal for young people who are unsure about their way forward, or struggling to find employment.
"Certainly this is a difficult time for anyone entering the job market and we trust the event will go some way toward pointing them in the right direction.”
