BUSINESSMEN have raised almost £15,000 for Havens Hospices by staging a charity football match at Roots Hall.
Staff from Barclays Corporate, Chelmsford, played a team of staff from Rickard Keen, BTMK, Barrons, Paul Robinson Solicitors, Wilkins Kennedy, MWS accountants and the Jefferies law firm at Southend United’s ground.
Ex-Blues player and manager Steve Tilson and former Shrimper Danny Greaves coached the Barclays team and Southend’s match day announcers, Micky G and David Crowne, commentated on the game.
A raffle, auction and penalty shoot-out at half-time also kept crowds entertained.
