Thames Barge Match this weekend
THE biggest field in more than a decade is expected for Sunday's 51st Southend Barge Match.
A total of 11 barges are to compete off Southend Pier, with racing starting at 11am and prizes being presented at the Navy and Military Club, Royal Terrace, Southend, at 8pm.
Souvenir programmes, which include entry to the pier, will will be on sale in aid of the RNLI.
