AN 11-year-old boy has had his long hair cut to raise money for charity.
Gabriel Chiddicks will start at Greensward Academy in September and his mother, Claire, wanted him to cut the hair he had been growing for three years, before school begins.
He asked his mum to donate it to the Little Princess Trust, which make wigs for children suffering from hair loss.
Claire also decided to raise money for Fair Havens and held a fun day at the Victory Inn, Ashingdon.
They set an initial target of £100, which they reached in the first day of fundraising, and have now hit £800 with money still coming in.
Claire said: “I cannot believe how lovely everybody has been with their donations.
“Gabriel is getting used to his new look and he’s already asked me if he can grow it again and keep it this time.”
