RUNNERS will find their way through a muddy obstacle course in the dark to raise money for a children’s hospice.

Night Rush Extreme Run takes place after dark, with participants having to tackle numerous obstacles while running around the 10km or 5km course for Little Havens Hospice.

Those taking part will have to negotiate a muddy moto-cross track, farm fields, and knee deep puddles, as well as numerous other obstacles along the route including a narrow bridge, hay bales, crawl nets, and spiders’ webs.

For the first time, a 5km course is being introduced giving more people the chance to test their endurance.

Last year, almost 200 people tackled the course, raising £17,000 for Little Havens Hospice, which cares for babies, children and teenagers who have a life-limiting condition, offering respite, controlling pain and medication at the end of their lives. Jane Hopkins, Little Havens Events Fundraiser, said: “Our Night Rush Extreme Run will test even the fittest of people and is certainly not for the faint- hearted.

“But, like all our fundraising events, it is also great fun with plenty of encouragement along the way.”

Each week Little Havens must raise £46,000 to care for each young person who uses the Thundersley based hospice.

The run, at Off Road Action Park, Wickford, takes place on Saturday, November 22.

Entry is £25 for the 10km and £18 for the 5km with discounts available for groups of ten or more.
