A MAN has been charged with sexual assault by touching on a train from Prittlewell to Southend Victoria station.
Angur Miah, 34, of no fixed abode, was arrested and charged yesterday following an appeal for help by British Transport Police about the incident in the early hours of Friday, July 25.
A 23-year-old woman had fallen asleep on the train but was awoken by a man sexually assaulting her.
Miah has been remanded in custody and will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today.
Detective Constable Paul Cudby said: “I would like to thank the media for publicising this appeal and all members of the public who came forward with information in relation to this incident.”
