IF you fancy an evening of rib-tickling laughter, then a great deal is on offer for the Jongleurs’ comedy night at the Towngate theatre in October.

It’s been brought back to the Basildon venue by popular demand, after it brought the house down the last time.

This time the headline act with be James Sherwood, one of the UK’s foremost comedy writers.

The bearded funnyman, a favourite on the UK stand-up circuit, also writes songs, and has written and recorded a number every month since last September.

He also writes and performs most of the jingles for radio’s Test Match Sofa, and often appears on the programme.

Joining him at the Towngate will be compere John Ryan, the Edinburgh highlight award winner, along with other familiar faces on the comedy circuit.

The show, on Friday, October 10, at 8pm, is suitable for over-18s only.
