A WESTCLIFF man has been found guilty of murdering his grandfather.
The jury convicted Anthony Winter, 34, of Westborough Road, Westcliff, with a unanimous decision at his trial in Chelmsford Crown Court.
Judge Christopher Ball adjourned the trial until next Tuesday, October 7, when Winter will be sentenced.
Winter murdered his 84-year-old grandfather, Jack Anker, having visited his grandparents at their home in Burr Hill Chase, Southend, on November 14, last year.
His grandmother, Pamela Anker, survived by escaping their sheltered accommodation in Stephen McAdden House after Winter had slashed her wrists.
Winter admitted attempted murder of his grandmother but denied murdering his grandfather due a 'loss of control', however the jury found him guilty of murder.
