FIREFIGHTERS are tackling blazes at two separate industrial sites.
Four crews from Rayleigh Weir, Hawkwell and Leigh were called to a scrapyard on Rawreth Industrial Estate, Rayleigh, at about 5.20pm where they continue to battle the flames.
Smoke blowing from the fire has also slowed traffic in both directions on the A127 between the Fairglen Interchange and Rayleigh Weir.
Road disruption was cleared by about 6.50pm.
At about 6pm, firefighters at Southend were also called to fire at a car breakers' yard on Purdeys Industrial Estate on Purdeys Way, Rochford.
