TWO casualties had to be cut from the wreckage of their car after it was involved in crash on Canvey yesterday evening.

All the emergency services attended the incident, which involved two vehicles in Link Road shortly before 8pm on Wednesday evening.

The fire service sent one crew from Canvey station and one from Rayleigh Weir.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free the two casualties, who were trapped in the wreckage, as police set up a roadblock and closed the road.

The casualties were placed in the care of the ambulance service and fire crews departed the scene by 9pm.
