A SPECIAL school has been given a £3,000 cash boost thanks to staff at Ford Dunton.
More than 70 members of staff from the technical centre, off the A127, in Laindon, took part in a charity golf day at Orsett Golf Club, in aid of Glenwood School, in Rushbottom Lane, Thundersley.
The school, which caters for children with learning difficulties, will use the money to buy sensory equipment and musical instruments.
Glenwood was chosen to benefit from the annual event, now in its sixth year, as one of organisers, Mick Gilman, has a seven year-old son called Vaughn at the school.
Mr Gilman, 43, from Canvey, said: "The school does a great job and the money will be a massive boost. Every year we organise the event in aid of a different charity, and this time it was very close to my heart.”
