CAR lovers will be watching Southend when the new Vauxhall Corsa advert is released.
Crews from Salt Film Productions were shooting on Southend seafront and in Old Leigh on Tuesday, using a banana yellow Corsa and a white model with the registration plate “LYV 2II.”
Film crews used car parks at the Sealife Centre and outside Genting Casino until 6pm to shoot the two cars in Southend and a smaller crew also spent the morning filming the Thames Estuary out to Sheerness from Victoria Wharf in Leigh.
The council’s tourism spokesman Graham Longley said it showed Southend was open for business.
He said: “We keep saying Southend is open for business and I think this is one of the clearest examples which show this is true.
“We are seen as a place where things can be done and where the council is keen and eager to help people do things.
“I think there’s a really different feel in the town, which is one of ‘can do.’ “We are very much open for business and revving up for more.”
