AN overflowing drain was causing congestion at the junction of Hullbridge Road and Rawreth Lane this morning.
The notoriously busy junction was partially blocked while emergency repairs were carried out.
The issue was reported by the BBC to be caused by a burst water main.
However, Essex and Suffolk Water visited the site twice this morning and no leak was found but water was coming out of a drain.
The water company informed their operations team and said they would continue to monitor any further contact from customers in the surrounding area.
Staff working at shops in Hambro Parade, adjacent to the junction, have now reported that traffic was moving freely by 12pm.
