RESIDENTS in Castle Point discovered a range of services and the help available to them during a community information event.

Stalls offering advice on community safety, adult education, children’s services and volunteering opportunities were set up inside Runnymede Hall, in Kiln Road, Thundersley.

Visitors were also given the opportunity to learn about Essex Fire Service, the support available for older people in the borough and services for the disabled.

Pet owners took advantage of free dogmicrochipping, and cyclists also got their bikes security tagged, free of charge.

The event was organised by the Local Strategic Partnership, which brings together a range of organisations to improve the quality of life for people in the area.

Colin Riley, leader of Castle Point Council and chairman of the partnership, said: “By working together, we are able to achieve so much more for our community.

“This event was a great opportunity for residents to find out what’s happening in the borough and to access advice and the many services available.”
