SINGER and rapper Brooklyn Lammiman has battled her way through to the knockout rounds of The Voice.

The 19 year-old, from Basildon, went head-to-head with rock singer Rozzy to fight for her place in the BBC talent contest on Saturday night.

The pair took to stage to belt out Guns ‘n’ Roses hit Paradise City, but it was Brooklyn who stole the show.

The former Gable Hall schoolgirl was worried mentor Will.i.am would put her up against fellow Essex girl and friend Hollie Barrie in the battle rounds, but the dog walker did not make an appearance on the show.

Brooklyn, who is pals with Towie stars Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge and works in both of their Brentwood boutiques, said: "All of my friends and family came round to watch the show together, and then we went out for a Chinese meal afterwards to celebrate.

"Some of them already knew I had got through because we filmed the show in advance, but a lot of them didn't know. I wanted it to be surprise.

"I kept thinking whether they would put me and Hollie together in the battle rounds, but I'm so pleased they didn't.

"I'm getting invited to a lot of events now and I'm getting recognised in the street, it's really crazy."

Brooklyn first hit our screens in the blind auditions with her impressive version of Nicki Minaj’s hit Superbass, with Will.i.am, Rita Ora and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson all turning their chairs.

She chose Black Eyes Peas star and hip hop mogul Will.i.am as her mentor, who also has Hollie, 30, from Ramsden Bellhouse, in his team.

Explaining his reason to chose Brooklyn on Saturday night's show, Will.i.am said: "Rozzy Is always powerful and flawless. I was worried that little Brooklyn would get smooshed by Rozzy but little Brooklyn surprised the hell out of me.”
