AN unlucky-in-love girl hopes to find the man of her dreams on a TV dating show.

Amy Andrews, 25, will appear on ITV’s Saturday night entertainment show, Take Me Out, where resident cupid Paddy McGuinness hopes to fix her up with her perfect man.

The veterinary student from Southend signed up to the panel of 30 single ladies looking for love after being encouraged by her family and friends.

She said: “One of my friends was on it a couple of years ago and had an amazing time. Her and her boy are still together, so I applied.

“I was with a boy last summer, but I suppose you could say luckily we finished, so I applied.

“My family really encouraged it. Last series I was in Australia and they were all getting in touch telling me to go for it.”

Each week, four men have to impress the girls to try to bag themselves a date.

With host Paddy McGuinness reminding the girls “no likey, no lighty”, if the girls don’t like what they see, the boy’s then face a black-out and a lonely trip back home.

Amy remains tight-lipped about whether she bags herself a man, but says she loved the experience.

She said: “I have a type, but that type has not been working for me. I normally go for tall, dark and handsome and I’m into a good set of muscles.

“I also like ambitious guys as I’m quite ambitious myself.

“I tried not to go for my usual type, but you will have to wait and see.”

The girls who manage to bag themselves a man, are whisked off to the sun-kissed Isle of Fernandos to get to know their date, while for the rest, it’s back to the hotel, before filming another episode.

Amy said: “You get caught up in the moment, but the scariest thing was coming down those stairs in heels and trying to keep your eyeline up for the camera.

“It was an amazing experience and I loved having my hair and make-up done every day. My friends are very excited and they’re going to come over and we will watch it together.”

To see if Amy finds her match made in heaven, tune into Take Me Out tonight at 8.05pm on ITV.
